Create a Goal

"Purpose refers to the ultimate destination....

Goals are the hoped-for results for each of the segments of the journey....

Paul's ultimate goal was to glorify God, taking every thought, word and action captive to the lordship of Christ.  So he ran 'ran with purpose every step.'"

--  The Runner's Devotional by Dana Nielsen how ski & Dave Veerman

Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. - 1 Corinthians 9:26-27 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians9:26-27&version=NIV

January 12, 2015 - 1 Timothy 6:11

But as for you, O man of God, flee from all these things; aim at and pursue righteousness (right standing with God and true goodness), godliness (which is the loving fear of God and being Christlike), faith, love, steadfastness (patience), and gentleness of heart.
1 Timothy 6:11

Determine Your Purpose

Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance. That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe. - 1 Timothy 4:7-10 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy4:7-10&version=NIV
